Barry Kimber
Barry Kimber has been directing commercials and short films for over 15 years. He began his career at the BBC in 1998, writing and directing TV trails, promotional and branding films across all BBC channels. In that time, he earned 14 Promax awards, including seven Golds in the UK and Europe and a platinum award from the USA.
In 2002 Kimber left to form the directing duo ‘Albert’ with Andy Poyiadgi. Together, the pair have shot commercials and idents for Ford, Nissan, Wickes, Heinz, Burger King and many others. They have accumulated silver arrows from BTA and made an appearance in the D&D book for their Sopranos promo for A&E USA.
Clients have included Abbot Mead Vickers, BBH, Crispin Porter, Grey, Leo Burnett, Publicis and TBWA.
Kimber has directed two short films as a solo director. The first ‘More Afraid of You’ (adapted from a short story by Joshua Ferris) featured Anna Chancellor and Phyllida Lloyd and was selected as part of the Manhattan Film Festival, London Short Film Festival, Cologne Film Festival and Bath Film Festival.
